Hair Color Trends for 2020

This is the time of year that I begin the search for what's trending next year!  Let me tell you there's a lot out there, so what does it mean for you?  I'm sure most of you don't wear the fantasy colors or the trendy grey or platinum looks, so how can the everyday woman look trendy.  I'm going to break down some of the hottest trends for 2020!

Red Hair Color

Reds are trending strongly for 2020.  You'll see every shade from a warm peach, gingers, mahogany, all the way to the deepest colors of red wines. Red may be the hottest color for 2020, all shades and variations.

Ash Blond

Blondes will still be all the rage.  Grey, "Nordic White", and "Iced Silver" colors are still going strong, but in the new year you'll see shades of blonde changing.  You'll be seeing ashier blondes , especially for those that aren't ready to go grey.  You'll also be seeing softer tones,  such as beige, but there's plenty of warm, buttery shades that will be trending also.

Don't worry brunettes, your not to be left out.  In 2020 the trend is to keep your hair color dark but,  balayage or baby high-light some lighter caramel or auburn pieces to give your hair that pop.  Another big trend I'm seeing is adding low-lights just a shade of two darker than your natural color,  to add some nice dimension. Of course, the warm chocolate brown with caramel baby high-lights is going to be big for you brunettes.

Fantasy colors, shadow roots, ombres and almost any other hair technique (and some I hadn't even heard of) are all big in 2020.  If you can imagine it your stylist can create it.

Fashion Hair Color

Just remember when it comes to hair color if your wanting your hair lighter it may take multiple sessions to create that look.  It's important to ask your stylist questions about the process, and don't forget to tell your stylist everything that has previously been done to your hair.

Hair Cut Trends 2020

Shag Haircut

The Bob is a classic cut and is here to stay, with some modern twists. In 2020, you will see the bob hair cut with very sharp and crisp edges.  The chin length bob is very popular, but you will see bobs in various lengths and styles.  The lob, stopping just at the collar bone will be a great choice in.  You'll see a lot of waves and movement this year also.

The Shag trend started happening this year and will continue to go strong into 2020.  Both Anne Hathaway and Taylor Swift have been wearing this popular cut.  The great thing about a shag cut is you can wear it many different lengths and still be in style.

Long hair is going to be getting longer.  Think Cher long.  Super long hair is definitely the trend starting out in 2020, and you'll begin seeing that the middle part is also making a come back.

Jennifer Aniston "Rachel Cut

I've seen a few 'rumors' that says the "Rachel Cut" , inspired by Jennifer Aniston, will also be making a come back in 2020.  It'll be interesting to see how that prediction turns out.  Another classic style rumored to be making a back is the "Farrah Fawcett " feathered layers .

Long Bangs

Bangs are still popular in 2020.  Every style of bang - micro, curtain, long, or itty bitty are predicted to  be trending as well.

It looks as though 2020 is going to give us a some throwback styles with modern twist!  It's going to be a fun creative year for hair color and hair styles.  Have fun with it and work with the style and color that works best for YOUR lifestyle.
